Marudhani Sarees was founded with a clear mission: to introduce and bring the timeless beauty of sarees to Indians and saree enthusiasts across the United States. The saree is more than just an outfit; it is a symbol of grace and tradition, worn by Indian women for all occasions—whether joyous or somber, cultural or celebratory, rich or simple. It has been a beloved attire for over 2,000 years, never going out of style.
For those who may not be familiar with it, a saree (or sari) is a traditional women's garment from the Indian subcontinent, typically ranging from 5 to 9 yards in length and 2 to 4 feet in width. It is elegantly draped around the waist, with one end artfully draped over the shoulder, exposing the midriff. The saree is usually paired with a fitted blouse (called a choli or ravike in southern India) and a petticoat (known as a parkar or ul-pavadai). This iconic attire reflects the rich cultural heritage of India and remains a timeless favorite for women everywhere.
